A Collaboration Born from a Simple Social Media Post

Sora ni Ao. is a Japanese visual artist who combines photography and words, capturing breathtaking blue skies, star-filled nights, and quiet moments of beauty through both images and language.
This special collaboration began with a simple post on X that resonated deeply with a member of our e-commerce team. It was a reminder that even a few words shared online can touch someone’s heart, create an unexpected connection, and eventually grow into something real.
Inspired by that encounter, Sora ni Ao., our E-commerce shop, "REIKA", and Kankoubai Sake Brewery came together to bring the idea to life. Among Sora ni Ao.’s many works, the image featured on the bottle was selected through a vote by the artist’s followers, making the label itself part of the story shared between the artist and the community.
The sake opens with a delicate aroma reminiscent of fresh strawberries, followed by juicy sweetness and lively carbonation that sweeps across the palate. Refreshing acidity brings balance, leading to a crisp, clean finish.
Best enjoyed slowly from a wine glass, this is a sake made for a quiet moment of reflection — perhaps while thinking of someone, or something, that holds a special place in your heart.

Brewery Story

The Winter Plum, First to Bloom

Founded in 1854, the brewery is located along the Ise-Betsu Kaido Road in Tsu City, Mie Prefecture, which used to be frequented by travelers on their way to the Ise pilgrimage. As the name “Kankoubai” suggests, plum wine was the main product of the family. The current brewer, Mr. Masuda himself, said he never used to drink much of his own sake. However, in 2010, under the technical guidance of Keiichiro Katsuki, the former head brewer of “Azumaichi”, who is revered as a teacher by many sake breweries, the buds of sake blossomed at once.
