This Niigata Junmai Daiginjo is more rich and well-balanced than the typical "light and dry" (tanrei karakuchi) style of the area. With elegant aroma that lingers on the palate it can be enjoyed (unusually for a Daiginjo, which should usually be drunk cold), both cold or lukewarm. We love the beautiful label, which was created through collaboration with a local artist.

Brewery Story

A True Family Business
Niigata's sake is famously known for it's 'light and dry' style of sake, which was most popular in the 1990s. While certainly delicious, this leads some sakes to lack a bit of texture and character. We find Hasegawa Shuzo's sakes to be a perfect mix. They retain the lightness and approachability of Niigata sake while providing a bit more character and uniqueness. Beautiful labels designed by local artists don't hurt either.
